Duisburg Accents (Accents)
Every year the Duisburger Akzente, rich in tradition but at the same time highly topical, mark the highpoint in the city’s cultural life. Every year since 1977 the genre breaking festival has been dedicated to controversial cultural, political and social topics.
The city’s cultural institutes work with trusts and private initiatives on the planning and implementation of the programme. The ‘Akzente’ showcase internationally renowned performers from theatre, music, the visual arts, literature and elsewhere, and most recently have been increasingly embarking on projects of their own.
