Traumzeit-Festival (Dream Time)

‘Traumzeit’ is a meeting place for music lovers whose ears are open and ready for a voyage of discovery, taking them beyond stylistic genres. Jazz, pop, world music, electronic, new music and classical not only stand next to one another as equals, at ‘Traumzeit’ they also work together in a really exciting way on various projects. In addition to big names, ‘Traumzeit’ is about new discoveries and independent projects such as commissioning compositions and ‘Music for Silent Movies’.
The festival’s home is the Duisburg-North Country Park, a former steel works which has been transformed into an events centre with a unique ambiance. Various stages provide just the right atmosphere for each concert. The combination of creative, contemporary music and the extraordinary aesthetics of the country park endow the festival with its own distinctive atmosphere.
‘Traumzeit’ is more than a series of concerts, ‘Traumzeit’ is a place for communication for musicians and the audience, for visitors of all ages and with a variety of musical tastes and, last but not least, also a place for cultural and economic exchange. It is for this very reason that partners such as RWE Rhein-Ruhr AG, the regional power company, and the cultural radio programme WDR 3 as well as numerous sponsors are so committed to the festival.
