An industrial historical monument and a great cultural and recreational attraction were created out of a former blast furnace installation during the international Emscher Park Construction Exhibition. Families and sports enthusiasts alike find something to love here- a top-class adventure park that was rated as the Number 1 visitor magnet in a survey conducted by the Tourism Association of North-Rhine Westphalia in its "Nature and Cultural Locations" category.

The "Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord," lovingly nicknamed the "Lapano" by insiders, has grown into a premiere event location; internationally acclaimed artists come here to show their works in an extraordinary ambience. Events such as the "RUHRTriennale", the "Stadtwerke-Sommerkino" or the "Traumzeit-Festival" (Dreamtime Festival) find a worthy backdrop here. Companies and other institutions celebrate their galas within the facilities of the Park.
